Palling around with Pinochet

John Dingus, eminent NSA archive spelunker, has recently uncovered a series of previously classified embassy cables describing one Congressman John McCain's meeting with Chilean dictator, General Augusto Pinochet, in 1985. If McCain/Palin's claims that Obama's association with ex-Weather Underground member Bill Ayers spoke ill of his dedication to defending America, McCain's ties to the contras, pro-fascist groups, and now mass murderer/torturer Pinochet leaves no doubt as to who has the real terrorist connections.

Pinochet Family Arrested in Chile: Drinks on me!

After being stuck in a class today with a disgusting student presentation about the women who supported Pinochet, and about how there was no way that class entered into whether someone opposed/supported the bloody dictatorship because she had PERSONALLY seen more 'lower socioeconomic' people at the funeral than full fledged aristocrats, I got this breath of fresh air!

Hoorah! I know I'm having a drink tonight to celebrate, and you should too.

Victory for Chilean Miners

After a 37 day strike by 13,000 miners in Chile voted to take the company's revised and improved offer.

Since I'm currently living in Santiago and witnessed the workers slandered on the news by the Concertación (centrist ruling coalition currently in power) and from the Right and personally saw strikers picketting outside of some of Chile's major banks that have connections to the mine owners, I'm going to make a better effort to keep ya'll up to date on struggles from the bottom of the world from English and Spanish press.
